Accept It!!

After hearing that The Dandy Lions as a band name was taken, it eventually got under my skin and we decided to change the name.

The Dandy Lions are now know as In The Jaws Of A Dandy Lion.

Oh, yeah, and meet Jessica. She's the lovely girl in that photo and the newest member to In The Jaws Of A Dandy Lion. She's a rad poet and digs folk music and acoustic guitars and is an A student stoner. Some know her as Pips.

She's helping Alexis with the writing for an album we're in the mists of making. The ladies are doing a good portion of the work and I think it's badass.

Alexis and I recorded all the sounds on here.
Of course they've been altered to meet our wants. I used a completely different method to mix this stuff, more channeling, transitions into songs, etc. The cover art is a dandelion I was blowing out once while I tripped off of X in Jessica's yard.

The "group effort" that was talked about a while ago is now a reality. Alexis and I have started working on music together. We've decided on the name, The Dandy Lions. We're working on an EP that has 5 songs as of now and might even be turned into an album. Needless to say I'm excited because I've never really had the musical opportunity to work with other people like this, specially with someone so insightful and is my best friend.

January EP

I can safely admit this is my most minimalist musical aproach I've done in a long time. I don't favor the sounds so much - but I'm doing for the sake of my new years resoultion and that was to make more music. And it was just plain fun to make. I miss that in the music I do. No more frustrations.

Resolutions...

My new years resolutions:

-Stop smoking.
-Look towards more natural methods to deal with things.
-Stop cussing as much.
-Make more tunes.
-Be a more peaceful person.


I will have a new untitled EP up on here in a couple of days. A couple of nights ago I stayed awake all night and recorded 7 songs with my new guitar. I rerecorded an old song I did a few years ago that I called "Sleep Song." I also recorded the acoustic jam for my dog that I talked about a while ago. This EP is really weird. Very different from what I usually do.

I fixed all the links. I made a mediafire account and put everything up on there and fixed all the links on the blog because they're expired now or whatever.

And upon further review, I want to redo "Keweenaw Vortex."

Early Day

I took an early day out from school. I wasn't feeling the best and desided I should just come home. So I did. The afternoon was slow and I managed to boot out some new stuff. Almost all of it has failed to become pieced together. I was playing my guitar in front of Apollo and it seemed to lull him. I know it did this because he's always barked at the sound of an acoustic guitar since he was a puppy. I made an appreciation song for him called "Apollo." I'm not completely done with it despite it being just a sort little jam. I should have it up in the next couple of days or whenever I just find time. But here is something I did end up finishing:

On another note... the band effort is seeing more light. It's like being taken two steps forward and one step back. Megan is ill and could be facing a life threatening situation right now so it goes without saying that I hope she sees the best and gets over this challenge.

Group Effort

This past weekend brought about the pieces of a group effort to make music.
It's going to have 4 people. Megan is one of them. She has her own band, May 14th.
I'm really excited to have her on board now. Besides myself, Jeremy and Alexis are in on this as well. I ecstatic about the whole thing. We're tottally at a lack of equipment.

I want to do a Sonic Youth type of thing. Taking turns on vocals and instruments.
I have a name in mind, but I don't want to throw it out there without them being okay with it.

There are a lot of projects and fresh ideas.
I'll be sure to post some worthy music that we'll make.
