Oh, Also...

I fixed all the links. I made a mediafire account and put everything up on there and fixed all the links on the blog because they're expired now or whatever.

And upon further review, I want to redo "Keweenaw Vortex."

Peace.

Early Day

I took an early day out from school. I wasn't feeling the best and desided I should just come home. So I did. The afternoon was slow and I managed to boot out some new stuff. Almost all of it has failed to become pieced together. I was playing my guitar in front of Apollo and it seemed to lull him. I know it did this because he's always barked at the sound of an acoustic guitar since he was a puppy. I made an appreciation song for him called "Apollo." I'm not completely done with it despite it being just a sort little jam. I should have it up in the next couple of days or whenever I just find time. But here is something I did end up finishing:

Early Day

I need more R&R like this.

On another note... the band effort is seeing more light. It's like being taken two steps forward and one step back. Megan is ill and could be facing a life threatening situation right now so it goes without saying that I hope she sees the best and gets over this challenge.

Group Effort

This past weekend brought about the pieces of a group effort to make music.
It's going to have 4 people. Megan is one of them. She has her own band, May 14th.
I'm really excited to have her on board now. Besides myself, Jeremy and Alexis are in on this as well. I ecstatic about the whole thing. We're tottally at a lack of equipment.

I want to do a Sonic Youth type of thing. Taking turns on vocals and instruments.
I have a name in mind, but I don't want to throw it out there without them being okay with it.

There are a lot of projects and fresh ideas.
I'll be sure to post some worthy music that we'll make.

Ripped Tape

Hope all is well. Here's something I did with the help of Ben. On Ben's blog, he posted something called "Tape Rip." Which as far as I know is... well... a tape rip. Anyway, either Ben or I suggested that I should do something with it. It's an interesting, slow collage of 7 minutes of some really odd noises. I think it was me because I was eager to ask him if I could play with some of the interesting sounds on it. It's certainly a small, different approach to what I usually do and I'm pleased with the result. I wanted to do this a while ago but never got around to it. I've been slowly picking up on doing more musical things! Hooray!

The title is "Ripped Tape." Kinda clever of me, hey?

Dramamine Dreams

It's been a while since I posted anything. I don't really know why I post anything either. Perhaps I am dreaming that someday my blog will be found in the ruins of the internet and I will be praised in the future as some Blog God. That's actually what this song is about. Dreams.
Recently I had been using Dramamine for it's... "semi-psychedelic" qualities. Of course this involved me taking more of it then a normal person probably should. It offers a very dream-like trip. It's amazing that there is so many things you can trip on in one store.

Dramamine Dreams

EDIT:

With the help of Ben (thank you Ben), I made another version of "Dramamine Dreams." This version features a synthesized voice describing the dangers of Dramamine. Ben went through the process of typing said dangers and making them come out as a synthesized voice. I think he just used wizard magic if you ask me. But you know... the whole "do not use while operating machinery, etc, etc." I find this version to be really... intense. The voices start to layer a lap each other and it just gets to sounding really insane. Here it is:

Dramamine Dreams (Version II)

Consider it a small gift for my absense.

Keweenaw Vortex

I started this on Friday and finally finished it today. At the start of the weekend I wanted to make a piece to soothe me because I was easily stressed but at the end it sort of turned into an interesting collage of some of the same sounds repeated. One thing I really like about it is that you can't really hear the bass over the layering but you can feel it.

The title comes from this rock shop I pass almost everyday with a painted picture on the outside of 2 people, rather witch like, stiring something in what appears to be a volcano. With the words "Keweenaw Vortex" at the bottom. Or the top, I don't really remember. I don't have a picture right now but I'll be sure to put one up on here.

First Post

Hello. As a first post, I figured it would be easier and more natural to go with the vibe I always have and always encouraged. Which is to just do it. I've essentially just desided to give away a Spiid release and a few mp3s I've listen to today.

The Ex-Sanguinator, Spiid, Split EP

This is the most recent Spiid release. It's done with fellow Hooker Vision artist, The Ex-Sanguinator aka Ben. I strongly suggest listening to his music. It's a complex of garage-like visual material that I couldn't even begin to describe.

Hooker Vision

Hooker Vision is run by Grant of Nova Scotian Arms. Grant is probably one of the most influential and if not the most influential musicians I have ever heard. You can find his blog on his Myspace page as well.
